WorkWise AI is a browser extension that helps you summarize, translate, explain, rewrite and ask questions about web content using AI.
Short version: WorkWise AI does not collect, store on servers, or sell any of your data. Everything you save lives only in your own browser.
What we store
All data is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local). Nothing is uploaded to our servers — we operate none:
- Your AI provider API keys (Gemini, OpenRouter, Groq, Mistral or NVIDIA NIM) — on your device only.
- Summaries, read-later items and your AI action history.
- Markdown drafts created by “Save page as Markdown” — kept for 24 hours, then deleted automatically.
- Focus-mode settings and the list of sites you choose to block.
- Settings such as your chosen AI model and response language.
How your data is used
Text you send to AI. When you run an AI action, the selected text (or the page you asked to summarize) is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you configured, under your own API key. WorkWise AI has no intermediary server, and never sees, stores or processes that content.
Permissions and why

We do not collect analytics, do not track you, do not read your browsing history, and do not transmit data to any third party other than the AI provider you explicitly configured.
Third-party processing
The only external processing is performed by the AI provider you choose. Their handling of the text you submit is governed by your agreement with them:
Deletion and opt-out
- Uninstall the extension to remove it from your browser.
- Clear your API key from the extension popup at any time.
- Clearing Chrome's site data for the extension removes locally stored summaries, read-later items, history and settings.
